The successful applicant: plans and delivers high quality teaching and learning experiences through the implementation of a modified and adjusted Australian Curriculum, uses evidence based practices and assessment for learning, demonstrates knowledge and understanding of working with young people who meet the eligibility criteria to attend a special school in a secondary school context, uses a range of IT techniques to engage and communicate with students, creates and maintains an inclusive, supportive and challenging learning environment to meet the needs of all students, works collaboratively with support staff to enhance learning in the classroom, develops respectful collaborative relationships with colleagues, parents, carers, therapists and the wider community to support students.
A minimum of four years full-time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification. Current full teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (or eligibility for teacher registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute). Mandatory: A current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011
