The ACT Education and Training Directorate is seeking applications from suitably qualified teachers for casual, temporary and permanent employment in 2013-2014 across all learning areas through the centralised recruitment round. Full-time and part-time positions will be offered to successful applicants based on school staffing needs.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: A minimum of four years full-time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification. Current full teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (or eligibility for teacher registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute).

ICT TraineeshipsShared Services Information and Communication Technology(ICT) is a part of the Commerce and Works Directorate within the ACT Public Service and manages many of the whole-of-government ICT business systems, as well as controlling critical ICT infrastructure on behalf of the ACT Government.
The Shared Services ICT Traineeship Program aims to attract, develop ICT knowledge and competencies and retain the best performers at the end of the Traineeship Program through merit based entry level recruitment. The target audience will be mainly young school leavers, who have completed Year 10, 11 and 12 (in flying colours), as well as those older workers who are keen to have a career in ICT.
Whether you are leaving school or looking to change careers, the ICT Traineeship Program will:
• help you establish a career as an ICT professional;
• help you to obtain a Certificate IV and Diploma in an ICT specialist stream. These are nationally accredited qualifications in ICT;
• provide great working conditions and exciting places to work as Shared Services ICT is one of the largest and most diverse ICT work environments in Australia;
• provide access to online learning and industry courses; and
• help you gain experience in the latest industry practices and whole of government ICT functions.
There will be several positions available as an IT Trainee (commencing salary is $40,974 per annum), including at least one position, which is an ‘identified’ ATSI position (that is, only those applicants who have an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background may be appointed to that position).
Specifically, we are looking for individuals who are able to demonstrate the following qualities and achievements:
• Demonstrated interest in ICT and the ability and motivation to complete a tertiary ICT training program;
• An ability to provide good customer service;
• Good oral and written communication skills;
• Inquisitive and good at problem solving; and
• Enjoy working as a team member; and
• Completed Year 10, 11 and 12 with excellent results.
The Traineeship Program is for a formal training and on the job development program, with a two year probationary period:
• Formal training requirements: The formal educational component will be delivered by a Registered Training Organisation. During the two year training program ICT trainees will undertake a Certificate IV, including ICT fundamentals, and Diploma in an ICT specialist stream. Trainees will be required to attend classes and apply their learning and knowledge on the job.
• On the job activities: These are designed and managed by Shared Services ICT managers in consultation with Strategic HR. The activities will be task focused and designed to maximise the application of the formal learning on the job as described in the Trainee’s Job Description plus regular performance reviews and feedback.
• Promotion to a suitable available position: Upon successful completion of the Traineeship Program ICT trainees will be promoted to a suitable available position in Shared Services ICT.

CIT's Nursing Program is seeking registered nurses who have currency in acute care to work as clinical placement assessors for students undertaking the Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled) course. Please note that this is a non-teaching, supervisory position for student clinical placements.
