Overview of the work area and position

The role of the Quality, Safety, Innovation and Improvement Unit (QSII) is to promote and facilitate a culture of excellence, innovation, education and research in healthcare improvement through a framework designed for the delivery of a safe and reliable healthcare system.  This is achieved through:

Safeguarding the high standards of care through the development of supporting policies, procedures, consumer engagement strategies, reporting and investigating reported incidents and communicating themed patient safety issues and risks to the organisation.
Continually improving the quality of the services through active teaching, coaching, facilitation of improvement programs and the provision of information for service improvement.
Monitoring clinical performance, analysis of clinical information and developing insights into healthcare improvement.

Branches within the Quality, Safety, Innovation and Improvement Division are:

*National Standards, Accreditation and Quality Improvement
*Quality Assurance

The Quality and Safety Data Manager works within in a small Quality Assurance Team responsible for confirming the provision of safe, effective, efficient care within CHS. This position requires a strong attention to detail and will work with large quantities of data from differing data sources, while completing multiple tasks in a timely matter. The successful applicant will demonstrate their ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with various stakeholders including clinicians and members of the CHS Executive team, divisional quality and safety committee members, National Standards committee members and other clinical governance committees across CHS. You will use your data and analysis skills to provide strategic advice on best practice data management processes and effectively manage multiple datasets to identify trends, provide reports, and educate clinical staff on quality and safety indicators.

Eligibility/Other Requirements

*Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or work experience in a data management and analysis related field in a health care setting is preferred.

It is highly desirable to have:
*Experience in development and delivery of education and project management.
*Building audit tools in SharePoint and/or Adobe,
*Moderate to advanced skills in Excel and willingness to learn skills in SharePoint, PowerBI and audit platform reporting.

*Have an understanding of how the National Standards and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) indicators align with this role.
*Fulfil the responsibilities of this role as detailed in the CHS Exceptional Care Framework, Clinical Governance Framework, Partnering With Consumers Framework and all other related frameworks.
