The Major Procurement and Projects team at Access Canberra is looking for an experienced projects and procurement professional to join our team.

The Major Procurement and Projects team within the Strategy, Data and Governance Branch has a whole of agency focus and works across the different branches to deliver complex procurement and projects that operationalise strategic goals of the organisation from ideation to implementation.

The role of the Assistant Director will operate with a high degree of independence and participate in the leadership of the business area. You will require a strong attention to detail, knowledge of project management, procurement, and contract management practices. The ability to plan, design, implement, and evaluate projects is required.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be an experience project management and/or procurement professional.
  • Have experience working managing risk and reporting responsibilities.
  • Effectively drive and manage activities across the team and with stakeholders.
  • Have a client service mindset that encourages and values collaboration.
  • Be innovative and courageous and how they undertake their work.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension for a further 12 months. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. this position is in a workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
