Details: Charles Conder is seeking a dynamic and innovative Executive Teacher, School Leader C (SLC) to join our executive team. The successful applicant will work in close collaboration with the Principal and leadership team to implement the strategic priorities outlined in the School Plan, with a strong focus on improving student outcomes through evidence-based teaching and inclusive teaching practices.

As a key member of the executive team, the SLC will lead and support professional learning teams within the school’s well-established Professional Learning Community (PLC) culture. This role requires an experienced instructional leader who is committed to building teacher capacity in high-impact teaching strategies.

The successful applicant will:

  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively analyse and utilise data to lead teams of educators within a Professional Learning Community (PLC) framework, with a clear focus on maximising student learning growth and outcomes.
  • Collaborate as an active member of the executive team, supporting the Principal in the promotion, refinement, and implementation of whole-school strategic goals outlined in the School Plan.
  • Provide leadership and support to classroom teachers in curriculum planning and delivery, high-impact instructional practices, assessment, and reporting to enhance teaching and learning across the school.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead evidence-based practices aligned with the principles of the Strong Foundations initiative, ensuring consistency and fidelity of implementation.
  • Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain respectful, productive, and inclusive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider school community, contributing to a positive and collaborative school culture.
  • Teach an appropriate load and provide coaching and mentoring within a team.
  • Support the implementation of the whole school conceptual based Inquiry model curriculum.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

  • A minimum of four years full time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification.
  • Current professional teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) or eligibility to obtain.
  • Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Working with vulnerable people (WWVP) registration (act.gov.au)
