Details: Education and Care Regulation and Support (ECRS) is seeking an experienced early childhood professional and/or auditor to join the team. ECRS audit and risk team are responsible for ensuring compliance of education and care services under the Education and Care Services National Law (ACT) and the regulation of non-government schools compliance with The Education Act (2004) and associated standards.

The Audit and Risk team is part of the ECRS which is a branch of the Education Directorate and is staffed by professionals with experience and/or qualifications  in early childhood/teaching and/ or  auditing.

To support compliance under the Education and Care Services National Law (ACT) and The Education Act (2004), successful applicants will work in partnership with education and care providers, non- government schools and associated stakeholders.

The successful candidate will work within a small team of professionals and undertake the tasks of an Audit and Risk Officer. This includes ensuring that compliance is applied consistently within education and care services across the ACT.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

  • Required – qualifications in early childhood/teaching and/or auditing or a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
  • A current driver’s licence.
  • Prior to commencing in this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 will be required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to www.accesscanberra.act.gov.au

Notes: This is a temporary position available from 30 January 2025 until 17 October 2025 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. A merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
