Victim Support ACT is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Victim Liaison Officer. The Aboriginal Victim Liaison Officer will play in integral role in: Facilitating access to the services of Victim Support ACT; Raising awareness in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities about the rights of victims of crime and services available; and Undertaking a range of administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Program. Aboriginal victim liaison officers work closely with team members across Victim Support ACT seeking to deliver relevant and culturally responsive services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victims of crime. Eligibility/Other Requirements: This is a designated position in accordance with s42, Discrimination Act 1991 and is only open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage is considered essential and therefore a Confirmation of Aboriginality may be requested. Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.
