Details: ACT Corrective Services (ACTCS) is seeking applications from a highly motivated candidate to fill the role of Capital Works Project Manager. As a Capital Works Project Manager you will be responsible for the identification, planning, coordination and execution of projects while overseeing Procurement activities, including contract management. While providing high level advice, you will ensure capital work compliance with Australian Standards (AS), the Building Code of Australia (BCA), local regulations and organisational policies and procedures. Further to this, the successful applicant will assess the services performance against contract Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).  To be successful, you will be required to demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Eligibility/Other Requirements: Hold advanced qualifications in Project Management (minimum certificate IV level). Demonstrate significant experience with building management or SCADA systems. Demonstrate significant experience in interpreting building/system plans and schematics (an Engineering degree, Architecture degree or relevant building trade/s would be a distinct advance). Hold a current driver’s licence (willingness/ability to drive within the ACT is essential). Eligible candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check. Undertake and complete ACT Corrective Services induction training as required. Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. It is desirable for applicants to have: experience in liaison and negotiation with the public and private sector; experience in contract management; Experience in government procurement and experience working within a custodial or secure environment.
Note: This is a temporary position available for a period of six months. The occupant of this position may be required to undertake parts of the duties outside normal business hours and provide backfill support to the Facilities Maintenance unit.
