Details: The Cladding Rectification Program is seeking an enthusiastic team member to join the dynamic team and take the lead in implementing the ACT Government’s cladding rectification program.

The Cladding Rectification Program oversights the rectification of combustible cladding on both Government and privately owned buildings. The Private Buildings Cladding Scheme was established in 2021 to test and assess the fire risk of combustible cladding on privately owned apartment buildings in the ACT and mitigate higher fire risk cladding through remediation. Between July 2021 and July 2022, the Scheme offered a grant to assist owners corporations (OCs) of apartment buildings with the costs of testing and assessment. Since August 2023, the Scheme has offered a concessional loan to undertake cladding remediation to OCs of apartment buildings with combustible cladding which poses a moderate or higher fire risk. Major Projects Canberra also hosts a Register of Suppliers that includes qualified professionals for cladding work, such as architects, builders, certifiers, façade and fire engineers, quantity surveyors, and structural engineers.

Reporting directly to the Senior Director, the Director will be managing a small team responsible for implementing the cladding rectification program. Key responsibilities include leading program administration, engaging stakeholders, managing risks and compliance, driving continuous improvement, drafting public materials, monitoring project activity and budgets, leading staff, promoting collaboration, and upholding workplace principles such as respect, equity, diversity, and safety.

The ACT Public Service supports workforce diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive workplace. As part of this commitment, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, culturally and linguistically diverse people and those who identify as LGBTIQ+ are encouraged to apply.
