Details: The Suburban Land Agency (SLA) is seeking applications for the short term filling of the role of Development Manager within the Gungahlin Section until 1 September 2020, with the possibility of extension.
The Development Manager is responsible, accountable and will have authority for the management and delivery of the Jacka 2 estate and Gungahlin Town Centre development projects. These projects are well progressed, an opportunity exists for a suitably skilled person to manage these projects in accordance with SLA Objectives and Business Plan.
Reporting to the Gungahlin Development Director, the Development Manager will:
  • Deliver sustainable and people-focussed neighbourhoods and mixed-use precincts through complex land development programs and projects from concept design through to construction completion;
  • Identify and analyse risks, develop associated risk management plans and undertake regular risk reviews, including managing Workplace Health and Safety on projects in accordance with legislation and guidelines established by SLA and the Territory;
  • Manage, supervise and lead a multi-disciplinary team of stakeholders including staff, consultants and contractors to effectively and efficiently deliver the key objectives of the Agency and in accordance with the strategic objectives of Government;
  • Manage workload priorities, work to multiple deadlines and deliver high quality outputs and high quality advice to the Suburban Land Agency Executive, Suburban Land Agency Board, Ministers and Cabinet; and
  • Facilitate co-operation and partnerships with other areas of the Suburban Land Agency, ACT Government and relevant authorities; key private sector organisations and contractors and represent the Agency at meetings with authorities, private enterprise and community groups, including public meetings.
Note: This is a temporary position available from 14 April 2020 until 1 September 2020. This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW) in 2020. Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
