Details: TThe Suburban Land Agency (SLA) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Program Controls Officer to support the effective delivery of projects within the ACT Government’s Indicative Land Release Program.

The successful applicant will play a key role in providing program and project controls expertise across SLA’s diverse portfolio of land development projects. This role involves working closely with project delivery teams and the Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure alignment with SLA’s frameworks, policies, and procedures.

This position offers the opportunity to work across multiple projects, implement best practice controls, and enhance SLA’s project management frameworks. The Program Controls Officer will manage key project documentation, support scheduling, risk management, cost control, and reporting, as well as coach project team members in best practices to achieve successful project outcomes.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong analytical and organisational skills, capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:

The successful occupant will be required to:

  • Hold a relevant professional qualification or accreditation with a professional body recognised within Australia; or
  • Hold a relevant building degree; or
  • Have significant building or Infrastructure knowledge and/or project management experience.

Highly Desirable:

  • As outlined above, this role requires pre-requisite qualifications and/or experience in project management or relative experience
  • Qualification and/or demonstrated equivalent experience in Business, Contract Management, Project Management, Commercial or Procurement.

Note: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of 18 months with the possibility of permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
