Then this opportunity is for you! Under limited direction you will deliver effective, well-evidenced and targeted communication activities. You will work with a range of internal and external stakeholders who are each committed to making Canberra an even better place to live, work and play. On any given day you could be developing a community engagement strategy, providing advice to inform marketing activities or improving the way the directorate uses social media. Each week will bring new challenges to resolve and your work will make a difference.
Eligibility/Other Requirements: Relevant tertiary qualifications and a minimum of two years’ experience working professionally in the fields of strategic engagement, strategic communications, media or public relations is preferred. The ability to work flexibly with some out of hours work is required.
Notes: This is a temporary position available for six months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months. An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical temporary vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW) in 2020. Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
