About the Role:

The Clinical Development Nurse (CDN) is recognised by Canberra Health Services as a source of expert nursing knowledge, skills and professional practice. This role requires a high level of clinical expertise and the ability to perform a complex and demanding role across the key domains of clinical care, leadership, education, quality improvement, safety, and communication.

The Clinical Development Nurse provides direct clinical support, teaching, ongoing evaluation, and constructive feedback to graduate nurses, staff, and students within the clinical setting. Working across Canberra Health Services, the CDN plays a pivotal role in developing nursing capability and fostering excellence in patient care.

The successful applicant will demonstrate advanced nursing practice, provide guidance and support to less experienced nursing staff, and deliver direct patient care as required. The role works collaboratively with the Perioperative Educator and the Clinical Nurse Consultant, taking direction from them on clinical and educational priorities to ensure the delivery of high-quality learning and patient outcomes.
