Details: An opportunity exists for an experienced senior leader to undertake the role of Senior Director, Workplace Legislation and Policy. The position will lead the delivery of key Government priorities, including progressing work in support of the Government’s response to the Assembly Inquiry into Insurance Costs in the ACT, implementation of reforms under the model work health and safety laws, engagement with stakeholders, and provision of high-level policy advice to Ministers and senior executives.

We are seeking a collaborative and resilient leader with demonstrated experience in complex policy development, stakeholder engagement and team leadership. The successful candidate will guide a small, high-performing team through a busy period delivering on multiple strategic priorities.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

  • Qualifications and/or experience in law, industrial relations or workplace safety would be highly valued.

Note: This is a temporary position available for four weeks from 24 August 2026, with the possibility of extension up to six months. This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only.

A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill temporary vacancies over the next 12 months.
