Details: The Cultural Facilities Corporation (CFC) is the ACT Government statutory authority responsible for managing, developing and promoting a diverse portfolio of cultural venues and collections, including the Canberra Theatre Centre, Canberra Museum and Gallery, the Nolan Collection, Lanyon Homestead, Mugga Mugga Cottage, Calthorpes’ House and Albert Hall.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director, People, Culture and Capability provide strategic leadership of CFC’s people and culture functions, including workforce strategy, human resources, industrial relations, organisational capability and work health and safety. The role is responsible for shaping a high-performing, inclusive and values-driven workplace that supports the delivery of exceptional cultural experiences across CFC’s diverse operations.
As CFC enters a period of significant growth and transformation, including preparation for the operation of the new Lyric Theatre, this position plays a critical leadership role in building organisational capability and supporting workforce readiness for a larger and more complex operating environment. Working closely with senior leaders across the organisation, the Director leads workforce planning, capability development and culture change initiatives that enable sustainable organisational growth and operational excellence.
The position provides enterprise leadership for people and culture, industrial relations, workforce planning, learning and development, performance management, wellbeing and work health and safety. The role also serves as CFC’s Agency Security Advisor and leads workforce implementation of the ACT Child Safe Standards, working collaboratively across the organisation to strengthen safeguarding practices, workforce capability and compliance.
This senior leadership role requires a highly capable people executive with strong strategic and operational expertise, excellent judgement and a demonstrated ability to lead organisational change in a complex environment. The successful candidate will bring outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills, a strong understanding of workforce and workplace relations issues, and a commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive and high-performing organisational culture.
