Details: Are you a strategic policy and governance professional with a passion for strengthening cyber security across government?
Digital Canberra is seeking a highly capable Director, Cyber Security Governance and Policy to join the ACT Cyber Security Centre for four months, with the possibility of extension. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and strengthen the ACT Government’s cyber security framework through the development of high-quality policies, governance arrangements and strategic advice.
In this role, you will lead the development and maintenance of cyber security policies, standards, guidelines, processes, plans and supporting artefacts, working closely with technical cyber security specialists. You will also play a key role in governance and reporting activities, cyber awareness programs, preparing high-quality ministerial correspondence, briefs, cabinet submissions, committee papers and other executive-level documentation.
We are looking for a confident and resilient professional with exceptional written communication skills and demonstrated experience delivering policy and governance outcomes in a government environment. You will be an effective relationship builder, capable of engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, exercising sound judgement, and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- The successful applicant must be an Australian citizen and possess or acquire and maintain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) security clearance at the Baseline level as an eligibility qualification. If AGSVA screening is not successful, your employment will not commence or, if already commenced, your employment will be reassessed.
Note: This is a temporary position available for four months starting from 24 August 2026, with the possibility of extension up to six months. This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only.
A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
