Wanniassa School is seeking an School Leader C - Inclusion. This position is responsible for driving the Senior Campus approach to inclusive education, with a particular focus on the coordination and delivery of the Small Group Learning Program. This complex and highly impactful role leads a large team of educators and support staff while overseeing the provision of tailored program for more than 60 students with diverse disabilities and significant learning and wellbeing needs.

This is a pivotal leadership role suited to an experienced and high-performing leader who is passionate about inclusion and capable of managing complexity at scale. As a key member of the school’s leadership team, the Executive Teacher Inclusion contributes to strategic school improvement, with a particular focus on strengthening Professional Learning Teams (PLTs) and embedding the school’s pedagogical model. The role requires strategic leadership, expert knowledge, and operational excellence to ensure that all students are supported to access, participate in, and succeed within inclusive classroom settings, while fostering a school culture that is responsive, flexible, and committed to continuous improvement in inclusive practice.

Key Duties include:

  • Lead and manage the Small Group Learning Program to implement high-quality curriculum, pedagogy and assessment practices that engage all learners, support student growth and align with the Wanniassa School Pedagogy Model.
  • Coordinate complex case management for over 60 students with a wide range of disabilities, including cognitive, behavioural, physical, and social-emotional needs, including liaising with families, external agencies, therapists, and system-level personnel.
  • As a member of the school executive team, support the Principal and senior leadership team to lead Wanniassa School as a Professional Learning Community by supporting teachers to use evidence of student learning to reflect on practice, adjust instruction and strengthen consistency in curriculum delivery, assessment and pedagogy across the faculty.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative, policy, and reporting requirements relating to disability and inclusion.
  • Undertake an appropriate teaching load and other duties as determined by the Principal.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

  • Prior to commencing in this role a minimum of four years full time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification; a current full teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) (or eligibility for teacher registration with the ACT TQI)
