Narrabundah College is seeking an experienced Finance and Absences Officer to join our Administration Team.
As a key member of the Front Office team, the Finance and Absences Officer will work closely with the Business Manager to support the college's day-to-day financial operations while also working alongside the Enrolments Officer to monitor and record student absences.
The successful applicant will be responsible for processing supplier payments, acquitting excursions, raising invoices, and overseeing the receipting of income through the Front Office. Applicants should have experience in financial administration and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage professionally with students, parents, carers, and staff are essential. Excellent knowledge of Sentral and Xero is required. The successful applicant will also be expected to apply relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with Directorate and ACT Public Service requirements.
This diverse and rewarding role provides high-level financial and administrative support to the Business Manager and Executive Leadership Team. You will coordinate financial processes, procurement activities, reporting, and governance requirements while supporting the day-to-day operations of the Front Office and making a meaningful contribution to our vibrant school community.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to: Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra.
- Current First Aid Qualification or ability to gain the qualification prior to commencement.
Desirables:
- Experience in an administration role.
- First Aid Certificate or a willingness to undertake appropriate training.
- Financial qualifications or relevant experience
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of school specific software including Sentral and Xero or similar.
Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately until 13 July 2027 with the possibility of permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. This is a full-time position, part-time hours will be considered and the full-time salary noted above will be pro-rata.
