Details: Neville Bonner Primary School is currently looking for a Temporary Business Manager to become a part of our school leadership team. This pivotal role will contribute significantly to our school community and our ongoing efforts to enhance the school environment, ensuring a safe and positive space where students can thrive. The Business Manager position involves providing support to the principal while actively collaborating with the school leadership team and the wider school community to drive positive student outcomes.
This position demands proficiency in the following areas: Strategic planning, Financial and Facilities Management, Human Resources, Communications and Stakeholder Engagement, Procurement and Contract Administration, as well as Compliance, Risk Management, and Governance.
This role oversees the operations of the school business and is accountable to the ACT Education Directorate in meeting relevant legislative requirements. The successful applicant will be required to provide advice and guidance to the principal on the business of the school, lead and manage the day to day and strategic operations and foster continuous service improvement. Lead and manage support and administration staff to meet business objectives, set and achieve priorities, monitor workflow, develop school-based procedures and work practices.
Given the dynamic and evolving nature of educational settings, the ideal candidate should be adept in prioritisation and workflow monitoring in line with Directorate policies and procedures. Exceptional communication and liaison skills are crucial, as they will interact with various stakeholders. Eligibility/Other requirements:
Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra
Asbestos Awareness Training is a mandatory requirement of this role and must be completed prior to or on commencement of this role.
Highly Desirable:
- Qualification or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance or
- Experience in a business-related role and financial qualifications and/or relevant experience.
- Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
- Knowledge of Xero and Sentral packages
- First Aid qualification. A First Aid Certificate or a willingness to undertake appropriate training.
- Add any other requirements that may be needed for the school

A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
