Details: Weetangera Primary School is seeking a proactive and collaborative Business Manager to join our leadership team. We are looking for a professional who values relationships, fosters teamwork and thrives in a community-focused environment. The successful applicant will bring sound judgement, initiative and a commitment to continuous improvement, helping to create the conditions that enable students, staff and families to thrive.
Working in partnership with the Principal and school leadership team, the Business Manager plays a key role in supporting the strategic and operational success of the school. This role ensures the school's business, financial and operational functions are managed effectively, efficiently and strategically, while providing advice and support across a broad range of areas, including strategic planning, financial and facilities management, human resources, communications and stakeholder engagement, procurement and contract administration, and compliance, risk management and governance.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to a supportive and community-focused school. As a key member of the leadership team, the Business Manager will help shape effective business practices, lead the ongoing improvement, management and maintenance of a 50+ year old school site, support continuous improvement and contribute to positive outcomes for students, staff and the broader school community.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

Asbestos awareness card or a willingness to obtain - Asbestos Awareness Training and evidence of completion delivered by a Registered Training Organisation is required before commencement, for further information refer to: Asbestos Awareness Training - WorkSafe ACT
Highly Desirable:
- Qualification or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance or
- Experience in a business-related role and financial qualifications and/or relevant experience.
- Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
- Knowledge of Xero and Sentral packages
- First Aid qualification. A First Aid Certificate or a willingness to undertake appropriate training.
Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for six months with the possibility of extension up to less than 12 months and/or permanency. A merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
