Details: The Health and Community Services Directorate (HCSD) has an exciting opportunity for a director and is looking for a high-performing and motivated individual to join the Information Access and Redress team. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing a high-performing team delivering complex information access and redress functions in a dynamic, high-volume and high-sensitivity environment. This position requires an experienced people leader with excellent communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to balance competing priorities while ensuring compliant, timely and client-focused outcomes.
As Director, you will lead the delivery of information access requests, including matters arising under section 856C of the Children and Young People Act 2008 and the National Redress Scheme. You will provide strategic and operational oversight of sensitive and confidential matters, ensuring all work is managed in accordance with legislative, policy and procedural requirements.
The role is responsible for establishing and managing end-to-end planning and coordination processes, overseeing multiple concurrent matters and ensuring workflow priorities are effectively managed to meet statutory obligations and service standards. You will drive continuous improvement by embedding contemporary processes, quality assurance mechanisms and governance controls that support consistent decision-making and compliance.
Working closely with senior executives and key stakeholders, you will prepare high-quality briefings, reports and advice on information access matters, operational performance, emerging risks and strategic options. You will also oversee monitoring and reporting activities that support transparent performance management and informed executive decision-making.
To be successful, you will bring demonstrated experience leading operational teams, interpreting and applying legislation, and managing complex workloads within a sensitive service delivery environment. You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a commitment to high-quality governance and the ability to engage confidently with a diverse range of stakeholders.
