Details: Are you ready to make an impact on the ACT Government’s infrastructure future? Infrastructure Canberra is seeking a highly motivated and experienced finance professional to join our Strategic Finance team as an Assistant Director - Capital Works Reporting.

About the role

This leadership position provides technical financial advice, analysis, planning and reporting on various financial matters, including for capital works and asset management. You will play a key role in coordinating the financial aspects of capital works reporting and asset management for the Infrastructure Canberra portfolio, and delivering high-quality financial reports and analysis to senior stakeholders.

You will also contribute to the development of financial processes and policies, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, legislation, and ACT Government frameworks. The role involves direct supervision of staff and requires strong leadership, collaboration, and mentoring skills.

What we’re looking for

We are seeking candidates with:

  • Demonstrated extensive experience in capital works reporting for public sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing accrual based financial statement, budgets and financial management reports.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, public sector legislation, and financial management practices.
  • Experience with financial reconciliations and reporting tools (including TM1).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues, interpret financial data, and deliver practical, well-informed solutions.
  • Leadership capability to guide and mentor a team, while delivering agreed business outcomes.

Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, or audit are highly desirable, as is membership or progress toward CPA or CA accreditation.
