Details: A temporary vacancy is available in the Criminal Law Branch supporting development of priority legal policy and legislative reform relating to domestic, family and sexual violence and criminal law and procedures in the ACT.
The Criminal Law Branch develops and implements policy, law reform and legislation relating to the criminal justice system, including on matters relating to domestic and family violence, sexual assault, bail, sentencing, corrections, policing and firearms.
As a Senior Policy Officer, you will provide high-quality advice, undertake sophisticated legal research and analysis, manage legislative reform and policy projects, and support stakeholder engagement to deliver on key reform priorities. You will work within a dynamic team environment and across the wider branch to support a range of other Government priorities related to the ACT’s criminal justice and criminal law systems and processes.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- A law degree or other relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in an appropriate field is highly desirable.
- Experience working with criminal law and procedures and/or law and procedures relating to domestic, family and sexual violence will be highly regarded.
Notes: This is a temporary position available for a period of six months. Suitable candidates may be considered for identical vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. Please note, this workplace is designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
