Details: The Financial Accounting position within the Finance and Procurement team at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) is a key role responsible for managing the financial accounting environment and ensuring the integrity of CIT’s financial operations. Reporting to the Financial Accounting and Assurance Manager and working closely with both the internal Finance team and the Shared Services Finance team, this role is pivotal in preparing and analysing financial statements, coordinating audits, and delivering timely and accurate financial and management reports. The position involves the preparation of operating and capital financial transactions, accrual-based financial reporting, and comprehensive analysis of operational data to inform decision-making and business performance.
By delivering high-quality financial reporting functions, the Financial Accountant actively contributes to the success of the Finance and Procurement Branch. The role supports CIT’s strategic objectives by ensuring compliance with accounting standards, facilitating annual financial and performance reporting, and providing critical insights that underpin effective business processes and continuous improvement initiatives. This contribution is essential for maintaining CIT’s obligations as a Territory Entity and enabling the organisation to meet its commitments to the ACT and Australian Governments, while supporting the broader mission of CIT as a provider of choice in education and training.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- Qualification in finance, accounting or business-related field is highly regarded.
