What Do We Want?
We are seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Senior Director of Facilities at Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT). What Will You Do?
As Senior Director of Facilities, you will oversee the planning and execution of infrastructure repairs, maintenance, and capital works projects across CIT’s campuses. You will champion the development of comprehensive facilities management strategies, aligning them with sustainability initiatives and CIT’s organisational objectives.
Your role will include managing procurement processes, ensuring regulatory and financial compliance, and cultivating productive relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and suppliers. You will lead a dynamic team, setting the standard for excellence and driving performance to ensure CIT’s physical environments remain safe, functional, and future-ready.
Representing CIT in both internal and external forums, you will leverage your expertise to provide strategic advice, enabling evidence-based decisions on capital expenditure and asset life cycles. Your leadership will be central to shaping CIT’s Better Infrastructure Framework and Asset Renewal Program, ensuring every step forward brings lasting impact.
What Do I Need?
To excel in this role, you must demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience in facilities management, infrastructure planning, and the successful delivery of projects. You possess the leadership capabilities to inspire a team and the strategic acumen to drive results in a complex and evolving environment. Your ability to communicate persuasively, negotiate effectively, and foster relationships across a diverse network will be instrumental in achieving organisational goals. You will bring a deep understanding of compliance requirements, sustainability practices, and risk management, coupled with the adaptability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
