The Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) is seeking dedicated, detail-oriented education professionals to join its International Student Services team as International Student Admissions Officers. As an International Student Admissions Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the international student lifecycle by assessing applications, issuing admissions documentation, and ensuring compliance with national and institutional requirements.

About the role

Reporting to the Assistant Director, International Student Services, the International Student Admissions Officers support the achievement of enrolment targets and compliance obligations by efficiently and effectively processing and assessing international student applications. Working closely with international applicants, education agents, internal teams, and external stakeholders, you will deliver timely, accurate, and student-focused service that ensures compliance and promotes a positive student experience.

As an International Student Admissions Officer,  you will:

  • Assess and process international student applications in accordance with CIT policies and relevant legislation.
  • Issue Letters of Offer and eCOEs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with visa and admissions requirements.
  • Liaise proactively with prospective students, education agents, and stakeholders to request documentation or provide updates on application status.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using student management systems such as PRISMS and Banner.
  • Collaborate with recruitment and student experience teams to ensure a streamlined and supportive admissions journey.
  • Support the preparation of additional student documentation, including deferrals, withdrawals, and refunds.
  • Contribute to international student events and assist with related administrative processes as required.

About you

You are a collaborative education professional with experience in international student admissions or education services, ideally within the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. You will bring a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, an eye for detail, and the organisational skills to enable you to manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality service to a culturally diverse audience.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

  • Experience working in an international student admissions or student services role is highly desirable.
  • Experience in using student management systems (e.g., PRISMS, Banner) for admissions processing and data management is highly desirable.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business administration, international education or a related field will be highly regarded.
  • Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.

Note: These are temporary positions available immediately for a period of 12 months with the possibility of permanency.

A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
