Details: Lead the future of international student services at CIT

The Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) is seeking an experienced and student-focused education professional to lead its International Student Services team. As Director, International Student Services, you will shape the future of international student administration and management at CIT, driving innovation and growth in line with CIT's 10 year strategic plan.

About the role

Reporting to the Student Experience Lead and Academic Registrar, the Director is responsible for overseeing the delivery of services and strategic initiatives across the international student lifecycle, including student recruitment, agent engagement, admissions, onboarding, compliance and student support. 

As the Director, International Student Services, you will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of international student services, focusing on enhancing student experience and supporting enrolment growth.
  • Provide high-level strategic advice to CIT’s Executive and Board on international student recruitment, administration, compliance and risk.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with international agents, partners, government bodies and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with key legislative and regulatory frameworks, including the ESOS Act, CRICOS and National Code.
  • Drive continuous improvement and business growth through data-driven planning, innovation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead, mentor and support a cross-functional team to deliver high-quality, student-centred services.

About you

You are a forward-thinking leader with in-depth knowledge of international student management and the Australian tertiary education regulatory environment, ideally with experience in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. With a proven record in fostering high-performing teams in complex, fast-paced environments, you will be experienced in delivering operational excellence and known for building productive stakeholder relationships.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in international education, business administration, commerce, or a related discipline is highly desirable.
  • Experience using and overseeing digital systems for CRM, admissions, and compliance management (e.g., PRISMS, StudyLink, Banner) is highly desirable.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications or professional development in leadership, compliance or international education will be highly regarded.
  • Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.

Note: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of 12 months with the possibility of permanency.

A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
