The Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced student administration professional to manage the operational delivery of international student services as the Assistant Director, International Student Services. This is a key leadership role within CIT’s International Student Services team, responsible for overseeing international admissions, onboarding, compliance, and student lifecycle management, ensuring a seamless experience for CIT's international student cohort.

About the role

Reporting to the Director, International Student Services, the Assistant Director plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day management of CIT’s international student services. This position leads a small team and is responsible for:

  • Managing the delivery of international student administration services including admissions, enrolments, eCoE issuance, and records management, in accordance with ESOS and CRICOS requirements.
  • Overseeing international student application processing through StudyLink, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with institutional policies and entry requirements.
  • Providing expert advice on complex student administration matters such as visa-related issues, deferrals, and academic progression.
  • Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of course information across systems, marketing collateral, and social and digital content.
  • Building strong relationships with strategic partners and stakeholders, including education agents, government bodies, industry partners, and scholarship providers.
  • Supporting internal audits, compliance reporting, and continuous improvement in student systems and service delivery.
  • Leading and developing a team of admissions and student advisory staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence.

About you

You are a confident and collaborative team leader with a deep understanding of international student administration in the Australian tertiary education sector, ideally within a vocational education and training (VET) environment. Your expertise in managing regulatory compliance, student systems, and complex stakeholder relationships will have equipped you with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in international education, business or a related field will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in managing international student services in a VET or higher education institution will be highly regarded.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems is highly desirable.
  • Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.

Note: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of 12 months with the possibility of permanency.
