Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) is looking for an experienced policy manager to join our Electric Vehicle TAFE Centre of Excellence team.

WHAT DO WE WANT?

CIT is seeking an individual with experience in government skills policy to manage the development of a new higher apprenticeship in the EV TAFE Centre of Excellence (EV TCoE). This role will focus on the foundational work required, including investigation and reporting of constraints and opportunities within the national and state regulatory settings, industrial relations issues and complexities for apprenticeships, employer and student benefits and requirements.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

The role will involve research, exploration, liaison, analysis and negotiation work with key skills stakeholders nationally, as well as with employer groups and unions in the automotive industry.

This position reports to and supports the Program Lead, Centres of Excellence to develop interstate funding arrangements and undertake analysis to enable development of higher apprenticeship arrangements both locally and nationally.

WHAT DO I NEED?

To be successful in this position you will need to possess a comprehensive understanding of the intricate workings of government operations, including the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of skills policy development. You will have strong research and government writing skills with the ability to interrogate and collate information and produce professional reports and presentations. This role will require you to have strong interpersonal and communication skills, including professional negotiation and liaison skills to work with government at a high level.
