Details: We have an exciting opportunity to join the Territory Archives team, part of the Territory Records Office within the Policy and Cabinet Division. This operational unit delivers high‑quality digitisation, mail and records services across the ACT Government.
As a Digitisation and Mail Officer, your core functions will be:
- Digitisation of physical records to preservation standards, including preparation, high‑quality scanning, metadata creation and quality assurance, to ensure secure and accurate digital capture.
- Mailroom operations, including the secure sorting, examination and delivery of ACT Government mail across directorates, operating electric fleet vehicles and using mail tracking systems to ensure timely, secure service delivery.
You will also support archival operations as needed, including file creation, retrieval, storage management and authorised disposal. This flexible, hands‑on role moves between digitisation, mail and records functions depending on operational priorities to maintain continuity of essential services.
The position requires the use of systems such as HPE Content Manager, ServiceNow, digitisation tools and mail tracking software to complete tasks and maintain accurate documentation. Strong customer service skills are essential, as you will engage with a broad range of internal stakeholders.
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, younger and older workers, and people with diverse genders, sexes and sexualities to apply.
Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- Ability to work in a manual handling and warehouse environment, including lifting and transporting archive boxes and mail items.
- Ability to travel between government sites using fleet vehicles.
- A current C‑class driver’s licence (provisional accepted) is essential.
- This position may require a pre‑employment medical.
- This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.
