Details: About the program
The ACT Government is looking for motivated Year 11 Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students to join our Employment Pathway Program (EPP).
This program gives you the chance to
- Stay at school
- Earn money in a part-time job
- Work towards a nationally recognised Certificate II qualification
What you will do
- Work one day per week while you are in Year 11 and 12
- Gain work experience in a supportive environment
- Receive access to mentoring and guidance to help you succeed
What happens next
If you successfully complete the program and obtain your ACT Year 12 Certificate, you’ll have the opportunity to move into a full-time permanent role with the ACT Government.

Eligibility/Other requirements:
- This is an identified position in accordance with Section 27(4) of the Public Sector Management Act 1994 and is only open to an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander lived experience, and cultural capability is considered essential and confirmation of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage is required.
- Eligible students must be enrolled in year 11 at an ACT Government College.
Notes: This is a temporary position available from 1 September 2026 until 31 December 2027, with the possibility of permanency. This position is part-time at 11 hours per week and the full-time salary noted above will be pro-rata.
