The ACT Insurance Authority is looking for an enthusiastic, positive, and motivated individual who has a passion for governance and communications to achieve operational and strategic objectives.

Reporting to the Director, Governance, Analytics and Relationships, the temporary Assistant Director Governance and Communications will be responsible for managing the ongoing administration of an over-arching governance framework for the Authority, as well maintaining communication channels that are focussed on providing high-value, quality information for both internal and external stakeholders.

We are looking for an individual with excellent attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, who can communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. You will be a highly motivated individual who can demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment with limited supervision and demonstrate flexibility and a passion to challenge the status quo in a quest for continuous improvement.

This temporary role requires an individual who is excited to be part of a team that values diversity and practices inclusiveness, in line with the ACT Public Service values.

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, younger and older workers, and people with diverse genders, sexes and sexualities to apply.

Note: This is a temporary position available immediately until 5 January 2027 with the possibility of extension up to six months. This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only.

An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.

Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.

This position is located in a workplace designated for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.

How to Apply: Please submit a maximum two-page pitch addressing the Selection Criteria that is outlined in the Position Description. Applications should also include an up-to-date curriculum vitae.

Applications should be submitted via the Apply Now button below.

Note: Under the ACTPS employment framework you may be placed in another role where required for the efficient administration of the service.

Where an offer of employment is for a fixed-term period, any related temporary contracts within the Territory will be issued in compliance with the requirements and applicable exceptions outlined in the Fair Work Act.

The ACT public service is committed to closing the gap, underpinned by the belief that when Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a genuine say in the design and delivery of policies, programs and services that affect them, better life outcomes are achieved.
