The Office of Industrial Relations and Workforce Strategy (OIRWS) drives the continuous improvement of ACT employment, workplace safety and workforce capability and accountability in accordance with the public sector principles.

We are seeking someone to fill the position of Executive Group Manager, for the Culture, Capability and Governance Group.  The Group undertakes a range of programs to support the ACTPS including policy development and reform to support compliance with statutory obligations, build an inclusive workforce which embodies the ACTPS values.  The Group is delivering an ambitious legislation program to respond to the recommendations of the 2023 Govey Reviews into the Integrity Commission Act 2018 and the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2012.

This program will also deliver on a range of Election Commitments regarding integrity, including work to support the Public Sector Standards Commissioner and ACT Ombudsman policy and legislation. Separate to this reform work the Group is leading a review of the Public Sector Management Act 1994 and associated standards and policies.

The Culture, Capability and Governance Group also set the cultural capability agenda for the ACTPS in fostering inclusive workplaces that value diverse perspectives and life experiences to reflect the diversity of the ACT community we serve. This includes delivering important outcomes under the National Agreement on Closing the Gap within the ACTPS.

Reporting to the Deputy Director-General, the Executive Group Manager is a critical role within OIRWS and is expected to provide outstanding and strategically focused leadership, communicate professionally with high level internal and external stakeholders, and work flexibly and efficiently.

Remuneration: The position attracts a remuneration package ranging from $376,285 - $389,635 depending on current superannuation arrangements of the successful applicant. This includes a cash component of $333,737.

Contract: The successful applicant will be placed on a nine-month contract with the possibility of extension up to five years. Prospective applicants should be aware that long-term engagements are tabled in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
