Capital Linen Service (CLS) operates as a commercial business unit within the ACT Government’s Transport Canberra and City Services Directorate. With over four decades of experience, CLS delivers high-quality linen services to more than 120 clients across Canberra and its surrounds. Join Capital Linen Service (CLS) and lead production teams that help deliver essential linen services to hospitals, aged care facilities, and commercial clients across the ACT.

As a Leading Hand Linen Assistant, you’ll lead the production teams that you are in across key areas of the laundry, including Finishing, Soiled Sorting, Washroom, Dispatch, and Transport. You’ll support staff, manage workflow, operate industrial equipment, and ensure high standards of safety, quality, and customer service.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and support teams to meet daily production targets
  • Operate industrial laundry equipment and manage workflow in your area
  • Train and guide new staff through competency-based learning
  • Conduct toolbox meetings and provide regular performance feedback
  • Monitor quality and ensure compliance with safety procedures
  • Assist with manual handling, sorting, packing, and dispatch of linen
  • Rotate across production areas and support hospital-based operations
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and high-performing team culture

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

  • Physical ability to safely undertake manual handling is essential
  • Must be able to work rostered weekends, public holidays, and overtime
  • This position requires a pre-employment medical and police check
