Details: An exciting opportunity exists in Transport Canberra for an Inventory Parts Interpreter. We have expected vacancies for full-time positions at the North, South and Central Region Depots. The role of Inventory Parts Interpreter is responsible for the effective and timely delivery of inventory holdings to ensure sufficient and appropriate supply to meet Transport Canberra’s business needs, ensuring its buses can be safely operated in a timely manner. You will be responsible for receipting, acquisitions and distribution of items in accordance with the ACT Procurement Act 2001 and Transport Canberra procedures. Utilising the Transport Integrated Management system (TIMS), the inventory parts interpreter is responsible for establishment and ongoing monitoring of arrangements for the supply of parts and servicing the front counter. You will be required to effectively liaise with a range of key stakeholders and the ability to constantly display a commitment to high quality customer service principles and practices.
The ideal candidate will have well developed communication and interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with well in a team environment.
Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- Visa holders are eligible to apply for both permanent and temporary roles. Those with eligible visas may be considered for permanent employment, while individuals with temporary residency or limited-duration visas may be offered permanent employment for the duration of their visas.
- Individuals on visas with Australian working rights are eligible to apply for temporary non-ongoing roles.
- A pre-employment criminal history check will be conducted.
- This position does require a pre-employment medical.
- Driver’s licence (C-class) is mandatory.
- Hold a forklift licence (or the ability to obtain).
- A Certificate III in Warehousing Operations or the ability to obtain is desirable.
- Industry experience in the automotive parts and accessories, warehousing or heavy vehicle maintenance fields will be highly regarded.
- Experience in computerised inventory record keeping systems (IMS) is desirable.
- The ability to work rostered shifts, from early morning to late at night including weekend rostered overtime.
- Rotation between operational depots may be required.
Notes: A merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill identical future vacancies over the next 12 months.
