Details: The Liquor Licensing Team administers a diverse range of licensing and permit schemes on behalf of the Commissioner for Fair Trading. This includes processing applications and renewals for liquor licences, registrations, authorisations and permits covering restaurants, bars, nightclubs and other licensed venues. The team also manages the administration of public unleased land permits, tobacco licences and a range of other regulatory licensing schemes.

As the Team Leader / Senior Licensing Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, timely and customer-focused regulatory services. You will provide guidance and support to staff, manage workloads and priorities, and foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

The successful applicant will demonstrate strong judgement and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities, analyse complex issues from multiple perspectives, and deliver practical, well-reasoned outcomes. You will lead by example, using challenges as opportunities to build capability and mentor staff, while promoting continuous improvement.

Operating as the senior officer within the team, you will take the lead in managing complex and sensitive matters, working closely with the Assistant Director to achieve strategic and operational objectives. Please note, this position operates in an activity-based working (ABW) environment. Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
