Details: Roads ACT is seeking a proactive and highly organised Utilities Policy and Projects Manager to join the Environment and Utilities team within the City and Environment Directorate.

In this diverse role, you will lead and coordinate policy, project and program initiatives that support the management of Roads ACT's environmental responsibilities, with a particular focus on the ongoing operation, monitoring and management of the ACT Government's contaminated sites and ACT Healthy Waterways assets. You will work closely with internal teams, regulatory agencies, consultants and contractors to deliver environmental outcomes, improve business processes and maintain compliance with relevant legislation and standards.

The successful applicant will demonstrate strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent stakeholder engagement capabilities, and experience managing projects, contracts and data systems. You will also contribute to the development of policies, procedures and business improvements while supporting a culture of collaboration, innovation and customer service excellence.

An Environmental Science qualification or Diploma in Business Administration (or equivalent experience), and strong computer literacy are highly desirable requirements for the role.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

  • Visa holders are eligible to apply for both permanent and temporary roles. Those with eligible visas may be considered for permanent employment, while individuals with temporary residency or limited-duration visas may be offered permanent employment for the duration of their visas.
  • Diploma in Business Administration (or equivalent) is highly desirable or high-level problem solving, research and analytical skills or high-level business computer literacy, including database packages, project management applications and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Driver’s licence (C-Class) is essential.
  • This position does require a pre-employment medical.
  • This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.
