Details: Are you an experienced project officer who enjoys solving complex problems and delivering services that make a difference to the community? ACT NoWaste is seeking a Senior Project Officer to support the planning, design and delivery of innovative recycling and waste management projects across the ACT.

Working within the Strategic Coordination and Planning team, you will contribute to a range of projects involving research, analysis, procurement, service design, stakeholder engagement and project delivery. You will prepare high-quality briefing materials and reports, work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, and help deliver sustainable outcomes that support Canberra's transition to a circular economy.

We are looking for someone with strong communication and analytical skills, experience managing projects and procurement activities, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. In return, we offer meaningful work, supportive leadership, flexible working arrangements and opportunities for professional growth.

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, younger and older workers, and people with diverse genders, sexes and sexualities to apply.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: Tertiary qualifications relevant to the role are highly desirable.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for three months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.

How to Apply:

  • A current curriculum vitae
  • Contact details for two referees with direct knowledge of your work performance, one being your current or immediate past supervisor

Where an offer of employment is for a fixed-term period, any related temporary contracts within the Territory will be issued in compliance with the requirements and applicable exceptions outlined in the Fair Work Act.

The ACT public service is committed to closing the gap, underpinned by the belief that when Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a genuine say in the design and delivery of policies, programs and services that affect them, better life outcomes are achieved.
