What’s the Story?
As a Library Service Officer, you’ll play a key supervisory role in our library branches. You’ll:
- Lead by example, guiding and supporting branch staff and occasionally stepping in as Officer in Charge.
- Deliver high-quality customer service and resolve queries with confidence and care.
- Help run programs like Giggle and Wiggle, Sensory Story Time, and adult learning sessions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and staff training across the network.
- Promote Libraries ACT’s resources and services to the wider community.
Libraries ACT operates seven days a week, and this role will involve shift work, including weekends, across the public library network.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:

- This position does require a pre-employment medical.
Note: There is no current vacancy. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process to fill temporary and permanent vacancies over the next 12 months which maybe part time and full time. Part-time hours will be considered and the full-time salary noted above will be pro-rata.
