Details: We are looking for a motivated data professional to work at the intersection of GIS, data, and conservation, contributing to impactful, mission-driven outcomes in a collaborative environment. The Office of Nature Conservation (ONC) Maps and Data team is a small, specialist unit providing spatial, data management and strategic digital support. In this role, you will deliver spatial data solutions for management of biodiversity data, working with web GIS applications and data capture tools, and applying data engineering and spatial analysis techniques using Esri and FME software. Your work will enable evidence-based decision-making and support conservation programs addressing key ecological challenges across the ACT.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Ecology, GIS or Data Engineering or similar field.
  • Three years' experience in GIS or data management working with biodiversity and conservation data highly regarded.

Note:  This is a temporary full-time position available from 29 June 2026 until 29 December 2026. Part-time hours may be considered. The full-time salary noted above will be paid pro rata for part-time hours. This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only.
