Details: Bimberi Youth Justice Centre (Bimberi) is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong leadership, advocacy, and communication skills to join the team as Principal Practitioner.

The Principal Practitioners role is focused on providing trauma-informed advice, consultation, and treatment to young people in Bimberi. The Principal Practitioner provides advise and input to operations to ensure the programs and services are therapeutically focused and trauma-informed and addresses the needs of individual young people in Bimberi.

The role is also responsible for providing leadership, supervision, training, mentorship and support to staff and students. The successful candidate will liaise and work in collaboration with young people, their families, carers, government, and non-government agencies and legal services to facilitate improved outcomes within a statutory framework.

This position does involve direct supervision of staff and is based at Bimberi.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:

Essential experience and requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent) in human services, allied health, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years’ experience working in human services fields.
  • This position does require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.
  • This position does require a First Aid Certificate.

Highly desirable qualifications and experience:

  • Driver’s license.
