Details: The Data Modeller role operates within a major transformation program focused on establishing whole of government ICT capability to enable the ACT Government.
The Data Modeller will design and document data models, information architecture, report and dashboard architecture, and patterns.
What You Will Do:
- Design and document data models, information architecture, report & dashboard architecture, and patterns.
- Working alongside the development team to design the ETL processes to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Review and document business processes, data sources, and definitions.
- Review requirements specifications documents.
- Develop, review, and maintain data dictionary, data taxonomy and other related artefact.
- Work with the business, business analysts and stakeholders to develop reporting and dashboards specification documents.
- Work alongside the development team to ensure that the reporting and dashboards solutions meet the business need.
- Work alongside with the different vendors during the program.
- This position may involve direct supervision of staff.
Eligibility/Other Requirements:
Professional / Technical Skills and Knowledge
- Experience as a Data Modeller & Information Architect.
- Strong experience in understanding business requirements using User Stories, Business Process Maps, Use Case, User Journeys, FPS and SSS.
- Strong knowledge of data analytics, data modelling and database structure systems.
- Strong experience with SQL coding language for data analysis & DAX.
- Experience with Power BI for data visualisation and Business Intelligence tools.
- Experience with reporting tools such as SSRS.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong experience in Datawarehouse design including SQL Analytics Services
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work proactively, autonomously, and collaboratively.
- Experience with Agile Software Development.
- Strong experience using tools such as Azure DevOps.

Compliance Requirements / Qualifications
- A current ACT Government CMTEDD issued Personnel Vetting Program certificate (Baseline clearance equivalent) is required for this position, or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
- This position does not require a pre-employment medical.
- Driver’s license class C is not essential.
- This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.
- This position does not involve direct supervision of staff.
- The position is based in the ACT.
Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.
Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home and designated office based.
