Details: We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative educational leader to support the operations and strategic planning of the Instrumental Music Program (IMP). The school leader C (SLC) will join the IMP executive team who work together to lead the implementation of our school priorities. The IMP Executive Teacher (SLC) will support the classroom teachers in the operations of the IMP. The IMP Executive Teacher (SLC) will be required to lead and build collaborative, solutions-focused teams to deliver explicit and intentional teaching, differentiation, and assessment of high impact instrumental music pedagogies. This role requires a dynamic, innovative, and empathetic leader committed to fostering an environment where both staff and students thrive in the music education space.
Eligibility/Other requirements:
Eligibility: A minimum of four years full time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification. Extensive experience in teaching beginner instrumental music ensemble classes and a specialisation on a brass, percussion or woodwind instrument.
Mandatory:
- Current professional teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) or eligibility to obtain TQI.
- Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Working with vulnerable people (WWVP) registration (act.gov.au)
Desirable: Ability to play and teach a variety of woodwind or brass instruments.
Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
