Details: Telopea Park School is seeking a dedicated and highly capable Information Technology Officer to be part of admin team. As one of the first points of contact to all staff and students with varying ICT and network enquiries
The Information Technology Officer will support the school priorities by managing existing ICT assets and systems to meet the demands of changing technologies, innovative learning and school management approaches.
This role is vital to the daily operation of the school, managing the platforms underpinning attendance, participation, curriculum, assessment, and reporting; internal communications, the school web presence incorporating social media; and our integration with the broader ACT Education Directorate’s systems as well as students and staff asset management
As part of the Administration team, the Information Technology Officer will work closely with the school Business Manager and Executive team; they will collaborate with the school’s IT and Building Services Officer in managing the school IT infrastructure and providing technical support to staff and students. In accordance with Directorate policies and in consultation with the supervisor, the position requires initiative and independent judgement.
Eligibility/Other requirements
MANDATORY:
- Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra
- Completion, or near completion of an associate diploma or higher qualification in computing/information science or significant relevant work experience (2 or more years)
DESIRABLE:
- Experience in a school setting with a knowledge of ICT related systems.
- Understanding of cybersecurity procedures and practices
Notes: This is a temporary position available for a period of six months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months. An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
