The Education Directorate is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Officer to join the Recruitment – Onboarding and Operations team.
In this role, you will work in a dynamic and service-focused environment, you will provide administrative and operational support that contributes to the delivery of recruitment services and the effective management of workforce systems and data. Your work will be both challenging and rewarding, requiring you to balance competing priorities while delivering accurate, timely and practical HR support.
You will play a key role in supporting HR processes across ACT public schools and central office areas. This may include maintaining workforce systems and records, preparing employment-related correspondence, responding to enquiries, and providing general advice on policies, procedures and conditions of employment. You will also support the management of central applicant merit pools, coordinate candidate referrals to registered vacancies, and contribute to recruitment-related activities and engagement events. Through timely communication, guidance and support, you will help deliver a positive candidate and stakeholder experience throughout the recruitment process.
Working collaboratively within a team, you will support efficient service delivery by maintaining accurate documentation, conducting data quality checks, and providing responsive, customer-focused assistance.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:
- Experience or exposure to human resource functions, administration, or customer service environments would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Experience within the ACT Public Service, Education Directorate, or a school environment is desirable but not required.
Note: This is a temporary position available immediately until of 7 January 2027, with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
