Details: The Executive Assistant (EA) and Comms/Events Coordinator at UCSSC Lake Ginninderra plays a dual role in providing high-level executive support to the Principal and Senior Executive staff while also managing the College’s comms and events strategy. As the EA, you will oversee day-to-day administrative functions, including calendar management, school promotions and events, correspondence, meeting coordination, and confidential document handling, ensuring that the Principal is supported in operational and strategic activities.

In the capacity of Comms/Events Coordinator, the role involves set-up of school promotions and events, creating, managing, and distributing communications to internal and external stakeholders. This includes the use of ICT/web-based software and applications for the creation of the school newsletters, parent and community communications, school’s social media presence, and supporting the school’s public relations efforts. The role also ensures that key messages are effectively conveyed to the college community, enhancing engagement, and promoting the school’s presence within the community.

Front Office administration assistance and customer service as required.

This combined role requires strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, capacity to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and willingness to upskill as required.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

Mandatory

  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) - Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Working with vulnerable people (WWVP) registration (act.gov.au).

Highly Desirable

  • Knowledge of Sentral (SAS)
  • First Aid Certificate or a willingness to undertake appropriate training.
  • Experience with web-based communication software and applications.

Desirable

  • Certificate IV or equivalent e.g. Business Administration, Government (School Support Services), Government.

Notes: This is a temporary position available for a period of six months, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
