Details: Neville Bonner Primary School is seeking a highly organised and motivated Finance and Administration Officer to join our school community. Working closely with the Business Manager, this role provides essential financial and administrative support, ensuring effective service delivery in line with Directorate policies and procedures.
The successful applicant will bring strong organisational skills, a high level of accuracy, and sound technical capability, along with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining confidentiality. A collaborative and proactive approach is essential to contribute to the smooth operation of the school.
Eligibility/Other requirements:
- Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra
Highly Desirable:
- Financial qualifications or relevant experience
- Experience in an administration role.
- Knowledge of school specific software including Sentral and Xero.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Business qualifications or experience in a business-related role
- First Aid Certificate or a willingness to undertake appropriate training
Notes: This is a temporary position available from 20 July 2026 to 16 July 2027, with the possibility of permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
