Details: The Education Directorate delivers quality public school and early childhood education to shape every child’s future and lay the foundation for lifelong development and learning. We deliver high quality education across 90 public schools educating more than 50,000 students from early childhood through to year 12. Our workforce consists of more than 8000 staff, including 7200 school-based staff.
The Finance and Infrastructure Group includes three branches: Strategic Finance and Procurement, Asset Management and Delivery and School Facilities Management. Key to this position will be to ensure the delivery of high quality and relevant business services.
DUTY STATEMENT
- Undertake high level liaison with senior executives, senior government officials, internal and external stakeholders and the Minister’s Office.
- Monitor the workflow and quality control of documents coming out of the Finance and Infrastructure office, including the allocation of incoming items in the EGMFIG mailbox.
- Ensure all correspondence is correctly formatted on the appropriate templates and provided within the established deadlines
- Develop, implement and maintain processes that contribute to efficient and effective workplace practices both within the Finance and Infrastructure office and the broader Division.
- Provide high level administrative support to the Executive Group Manager, Finance and Infrastructure Group including organising travel, diary appointments, records management, collating papers for meetings, support the facilitation of Town Hall/Staff forum, manage Divisional leave calendar and HR requests.
- Process invoices and payments as required including credit card reconciliation and human resource tasks relating to the Division.
- Maintain high levels of confidentiality in handling queries and papers and deal sensitively with issues as they arise.
Eligibility/Other requirements:
Desirable: Knowledge of Government functions and TRIM.
Notes: This is a temporary position available from 12 January 2026 until 05 June 2026 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency.
A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
