The role (in a nutshell)

You’ll work in a small, fast‑moving team that helps translate big system reforms into practical delivery across schools and the Education Support Office. This role is hands‑on, varied and well‑suited to someone who likes organising complexity, keeping things moving, and supporting senior leaders to deliver.

What you’ll be involved in

  • Coordinating and tracking reform projects and implementation activities
  • Engaging stakeholders across the Directorate to bring them on our reform journey
  • Monitoring progress, risks and actions (and keeping everyone honest on timeframes)
  • Pulling together reports, briefings and updates for executives
  • Working with colleagues across policy, operations and schools to get things done
  • Jumping in where needed as priorities shift (because they might!)

This role is for you if you:

  • Are an organised, reliable performer who likes responsibility and visibility
  • Have experience supporting projects, programs or reform work in government
  • Write clearly, take good notes, and can distil complexity into useful updates
  • Are ready to stretch into more senior coordination, judgement and autonomy
  • Enjoy working with a wide range of stakeholders and keeping momentum going
  • Understand government business and/or school improvement
  • Want to do work that matters and improve outcomes and inclusion for ACT students
  • Want to work in supportive team that values initiative, pragmatism and good humour

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, younger and older workers, and people with diverse genders, sexes and sexualities to apply.
