Details: Are you passionate about creating memorable experiences, connecting with people, and making a real impact on the future of education? This is more than a recruitment role; it's an exciting opportunity to become a key ambassador for ACT public schools and help attract the talented workforce that will shape the next generation.

As the Senior HR Officer, Attraction and Engagement, you'll be at the centre of dynamic recruitment and engagement initiatives, supporting the coordination of high-profile careers events, university engagements, recruitment campaigns, networking opportunities, and workforce attraction activities across the ACT and beyond. You'll have the chance to represent the Directorate at career expos, build relationships with universities and professional associations, and create engaging experiences that inspire talented people to choose a career in ACT public education.

This role offers a unique blend of event management, stakeholder engagement, marketing, project coordination, and strategic recruitment. From coordinating and delivering recruitment events and managing event logistics, to supporting creative attraction initiatives and strengthening workforce pipelines, no two days will be the same. You'll bring ideas to life, coordinate end-to-end event delivery, and ensure every interaction leaves prospective candidates excited about joining our schools and education community.

If you're an energetic, highly organised professional who thrives on building relationships, delivering exceptional events, managing multiple projects, and creating meaningful connections, this is your chance to combine your passion for event management and people engagement with a rewarding career that makes a lasting difference to the education sector.

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, younger and older workers, and people with diverse genders, sexes and sexualities to apply.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: Experience in event coordination and/or project management is desirable.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of six months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.

Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.  Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.

The ACT public service is committed to closing the gap, underpinned by the belief that when Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a genuine say in the design and delivery of policies, programs and services that affect them, better life outcomes are achieved.
